Handmade postcard practice

I joined a swap that I was really looking forward to…. except for the “send 5 postcards” requirement. I don’t have postcards, I don’t collect postcards, I don’t really get the point of postcards…. but handmade is welcome in this swap so I joined up anyway and here I go practicing my skills at making something nice for my partner.

A day for organizing

Since I spent a good portion of the day trimming and organizing loose stickers from my collection in preparation of an upcoming swap I thought it would be fitting to share a very, very small portion of my sticker collection. These are the full sheets of “goodie” stickers 🙂

Fun at Joann’s

Clearance dollar items 🙂 $.50

  • face stickers
  • ice cream magnets x2
  • stationery sets x3
  • rubber stamp
  • spiral paper clips
  • clear stamp sets x4
  • valentine’s glitter tubes

A couple sets I bought for $1.

Unproductive

I didn’t actually accomplish much today. I read one whole chapter in one of the books I picked up at the library yesterday, made a fairly large list of books to take to the library with me when I go and made three whole ATC backgrounds.

Shopping day

I had an appointment at my daughter’s school today and there’s a winter storm advisory starting soon so I thought I would go out and try to enjoy the little warmth we had today.

From Michael’s dollar spot

  • 2 sticker booklets
  • a cupcake journal
  • scented pens ($3.99)
  • two clear stamp sets
  • note cards
  • black stamp pad
  • three packs of epoxy dots ($.49)

From The Dollar Tree

  • 2 packs of printer paper
  • dimensional stickers
  • cupcake notebook

From Party City

  • Two small stationery sets
  • small book of sticker

I bought these to replace those that were lost in a swap-bot swap on the way to my partner. 😦

I also picked up three Mercedes Lackey books at the library on the way home 🙂 I might get to saying something about those as I finish them.

Here I go :/

I really suck at trying to keep up with a blog. I’ve tried more than a couple times and I always just stop posting after a couple of weeks. I get tired of taking all the pictures and trying to keep everything organized. This time I’m just going to keep it as simple as possible and worry about more than that if I ever have to.

That being said. My most recent project:

This is a full sized blanket made out of 3 inch granny square blocks. It took me about three weeks to crochet and sew all of the blocks together. I’m still working on the border along the full edges now but for the most part you can see the finished project here. I’m really impressed with how it turned out. Now to decide what I’m going to do with it. My boyfriend wants an 8 bit Samus without her suit so I’m thinking that will probably be the one we use if we use any of them.

Happy Birthday Spooky!

The socks fell out of the envelope before I sent it lol. I’ll have to send those another time.
